Best Eco Friendly Dishwasher Detergent Pods

👤I received a package of dishwasher tabs for the second time and I had to count them to make sure they were not 73. When I received my original order, I thought it was a joke and wanted to make sure I got what I paid for. The replacement has only 68 tabs, not 73. It feels like false advertising when I realize a mistake could have been made during the packing process. I will not buy this item again unless Amazon or Seventh Generation can fix this.

👤There is something odd about the Amazonpods. I've been using these for a long time and have not had a problem with them. My dishwasher has been overflowing out the bottom front in the last month. I replaced the parts but nothing fixed the problem. There was a large amount of suds in the base when I opened it up. I traced it back to the ones I received a couple months ago. I bought a new pack from Target and had no issues. The same load was run through again with the same Amazon product. I like seventh generation products. I don't think I can trust ordering from Amazon anymore.

I had a crappy dishwasher for 11 years, and I tried every detergent I could find, but it didn't really clean them. Before I put the dishes in the dishwasher, I take larger pieces of food off the dishes. I put a Seventh Generation pack into the detergent dispensers and let it go. I don't use a rinse aid. I like to manually set one final rinse for the dishes because I don't have a fancy-pants Bosch dishwasher. I am overwhelmed with this product. It cleans my dishes, even the dried-on sauces. My glasses are sparkling, my plates and cups are clean, and my utensils are shiny. It doesn't have the eye-irritating, throat-scratching chemical odor of Palmolive or Cascade. I'm sold! I love that this product doesn't kill my eyes or nose, and I love that it cleans my dishes. It comes in a tub container.

If you have been getting fog on your glasses, you can put some water in the dishwasher rinse agent compartment. I've been doing this for about 5 loads and it is slowly shining up the glasses, making them clear again. I don't smell it on them.

It was difficult on glasses and silverware. I used different products for 4 hours. If I prewash my dishes by hand and then run through the dishwasher, they come out dirtier. I'm donating my glassware and dishes to Goodwill, but they probably won't want them. It cost about $300 to replace everything. I was beyond disappointed here. The process is more expensive because I purchased an additional rinse-aid. I can't recommend this product and won't purchase it again.

👤I bought these because I was concerned about the leftover stuff. I decided to only buy one bag because I thought there was a high risk that it would happen. I used the Seventh Generation rinse aid and my dishes came out clear, but I am not sure if that is the solution. If you've never had to rinse aid before, why go through the trouble? The first ingredients are not jam packed with heavy duty chemicals, but just enough to get everything clean. I try out different smells all the time from them. You wonder why you bother getting scented in the first place if they are not so overpowering. I can usually buy all their stuff in sets of 6 or 4 which saves me a lot of time. I like the method. I decided to try this out knowing the risk, and I am very relieved that this is another product of theirs that I can use.

👤I wanted to like this product. It burns my skin. The powder is so light that it floats in the air and still managed to get onto my skin even with long and thick house cleaning gloves on. I bought the 8 pack in May of last year and have finished 7.5 boxes with a half box to spare, I think it will last another 3 months. I run the dishwasher 1x per day. I don't use hydrogen peroxide anymore and sometimes fill the rinse side with water. I use glass, mugs, dishes and steel silverware.

I gave this product a week or so to get the dishwasher used to the new solution, but I don't think it's a good idea for me. I place the plates in the machine after washing them. There are always warnings about little ones trying to eat the pouches and the powders have a tendency to puff into the surrounding air, which is why we chose a gel. The gel limits the number of choices to minimize risks. Better Life Dishwasher Gel is easy to clean and does not produce offensive fumes while the dishwasher is running. Your mileage may vary, but our glasses come out clear, plates have no film left behind, silverware has no food particles on them, and silicone and plastic items have no residual soap. We have good water and a good dishwasher that is kept clean. We clean the dishwasher by running white vinegar through it. The build-up in the dishwasher has not changed from this soap. We have no complaints about this detergent.

👤There is an update for 4/2020. Since I had bought a bottle and didn't want to just throw my money down the drain, we were persistent in using this. I love this detergent. It took a few cycles to figure out how much I needed to use, but I use about a quarter of the normal amount. The detergent cubby is barely filled. I bought the last bottle in August and we cook all the time and wash dishes so frequently that I am just now running low. I am buying another bottle of detergent because it cleans our dishes. I learned that the error it was throwing on the dishwasher was because it was causing all the suds when I filled the detergent cubby full. I recommend now. If you have wood floors, you should put a towel down when you figure out how much to use on the dishwasher. I wouldn't recommend it. I did not read the instructions and filled it with normal dishwasher detergent. The dishwashers overflowed with suds on the hard wood floor. I used the directed amount after reading the instructions. There are so many suds in the dishwasher after the cycle is clean that this did not overflow the dishwasher onto the floor. The dishwasher will not allow it to pump/drain properly, so it keeps throwing errors on it. The money was wasted. It had great reviews, so it was pretty bummed.

Seventh Generation is not 100% natural, but it is a lot less toxic than my previous products and the power and performance of these Pods makes me pay a bit more. What a find!

👤I couldn't get my typical super-powered Pod so I bought these. I thought I would be limiting this use to lighter loads. These worked well, no leftover food or spots. I used these to deep soak my pans and over racks. Threw a few of them in with warm water and let it sit overnight, and black baked on messes are easy to clean with a sponge. I would buy them again. You will still be satisfied with their performance if you use these ingredients.
