My grandson is 16 months old. The tugboat floats, loads and pours, but I like the way the yellow submarine works, it seems to be a more predictable pour. The plastic on the sides of the "port holes" is backed so that little fingers are less likely to get caught. I will be buying more green toys in the future. I hope the company goes far. The little holes are partially blocked to prevent kids from getting their fingers stuck in there, and the top bit opens up on a hinge so that you can clean inside, or get out any toys your child manages to stuff into the'mouth'. The propeller spins if you drive it fast. It's simple for a baby but open-ended and cool enough to be a fun pool toy as kids get bigger, since it can either float on the surface when empty or sink/dive if you push it down so it fills with water. This has gotten the most play out of any of our bath toys, and seems to resist getting slimy and gross. It doesn't trap bathwater inside. I can see it lasting through multiple kids without a hitch after a long time of water play. Very sturdy and well made. I think the Green toys line is good, but this is my favorite.

I did a lot of research before selecting this model, and it worked well to reduce the population of squash bugs that were attacking my pumpkins. It works best on the smallest bugs. If you want to catch a bigger bug, you have to scoop it into the opening. When you're sucking up bugs, keep the magnifying glass portion open and close it afterwards. The squash bug can be picked up if you scoop them into the barrel and then tap them into the collection section. I have not tried it on house spiders, so I can't say if it works there. I like the way you can disassemble the barrel to clean and dump the bugs out, and the chamber detaches from the handle. Even if the magnifying glass gets in the way, it's easy to dump the bugs into some soapy water. I would recommend this purchase to anyone that is fighting squash bugs. Remove the eggs from the leaves and seal them in a baggie. I'm down to finding 5 squash bugs a day after using this gun.

👤I tried out the bug gun and bug container from Amazon a few years ago. I used the gun to catch bugs in the house instead of getting a child to test the gun out for fun. It lasted at least a few years. Spiders, moths, beetles, and flies are easy to catch. When I go outside on the back porch during warm weather, I leave the screen on the glass door open for a few minutes, so that bugs can't get in. It's a good thing. I was hesitant to get a new gun since there were a lot of bad reviews. I got a new gun for this summer because I missed the easy way it caught bugs. So far, so good. The old one works the same as the new one. I have caught two arthropods. There is a If the gun has a long life, I will update my review, but hopefully not. The required 4 AA batteries were already in the gun. The gun was in the original box and in a plastic bag.
