Best Eco Friendly Laundry Detergent Fragrance

👤The way our grandparents did things was the same. This stuff has rules. It's simple, economical, has minimal plastic packaging that can at least be reuse or recycled before "recycling" (sorry to burst your hippie bubble, but very little of what goes into recycle bins actually gets averted from landfill), the box takes up way less room than liquid detergent bottles This has an A rating on EWG.org, which is a nonpartisan research group that analyzes all sorts of data, including ingredients of consumer goods, which are rated based on how healthy things are for humans and the environment. There is a I usually wash my clothes with cold water in a front-loading washer, and I have no problems with the clumps because I sprinkle the powder inside the drum on top of my clothes. If you put it in the compartment that is meant for liquid detergent, it will clump. I add a small amount of distilled white vinegar to every load. I think about how sewage is minimally processed by wastewater treatment plants, then dumped into our rivers, bays, oceans, etc etc, and I snap out of it. It's time to smell the future. 👤Most eco-detergents get a grade of C or D from the Environmental Working Group, but they don't work very well. Two exceptions are Bio-Kleen and Planet, both of which receive a grade of A and actually work. I use both Bio-Kleen powder and Planet because we have a HE washer and Bio-Kleen foams/suds if you use too much. Planet doesn't make suds. There is a The test for eco-detergents is cloth diapering. I've been using this regimen for a year in my mountain. My cotton prefolds and hemp inserts come out clean as a whistle after drinking well water with high levels of calcium and magnesium salts. I use coconut oil on the baby's bottom and lanolized wool covers to get those oils out of the cotton and hemp. It's important to note for hard water. If you want to use a non-toxic, eco-detergent and you have hard water, you will need to add in a hard water treatment to your wash. Non-precipitating water conditioners are the only ones that work in the long run. I've been playing with the idea of adding 1/2 - 1 cup of vinegar or 10% citric acid solution to the rinse compartment to remove mineral deposits and make fabric softer. I don't know if the hard water deposits will be controlled by a single rinse, but it seems to be enough for some people. Calgon is a water softener, but it isn't a miracle for me - I'm not 100% sure how well the new formula works, it contains synthetic polymer and zeolites, and it has an unclear safety profile. Unless you use non-precipitating water softeners, you should be aware that borax and washing soda can cause mineral salts on your fabrics. The problem with borax is that it is toxic to humans. STTP and EDTA are approved for use as food Additives. I make a gallon of solution at a time by adding 100 g of citric acid per liter of water. I use my mediocre front loading washer to load a load that fills up 1/3 of the washer. Pre-soak prefolds and inserts in hot water in several 5 gallon buckets for 1 - 2 hours. This removes mineral build-up on fibers. It also removes odors. The water is softened to prevent and remove mineral deposits. After soaking, dump the water and load the washer to remove excess liquid. There are two more To remove remaining poo + urine, 1/2 to 1 scoop biokleen + 1 tbsp STTP, you need to wash on warm water. Heavy duty hot wash with biokleen and extra rinse. The final warm water light wash should be used to remove residual detergent and alkali. I add 1 cup of vinegar or 1/2 cup of citric acid solution to this in the detergent slot to help remove hard water mineral build up and make sure the diaper's pH is back to neutral or just slightly acidic which human skin does fine with. There is a I wish I had an old fashioned non HE washer or a better one. Most HE washers don't use enough water to wash cloth diapering situations. I know that Love University doesn't do extra rinses, but that's rubbish. I left out the final rinse a few times and that is the only time that a contact rash appeared on the baby's bottom. I added the extra rinse back in and it went away. As long as you keep the mineral deposits in check, you can do some extra rinses without creating more of a mineral build-up on the fibers in the long run. If you ever need to strip your diapers, I would recommend soaking in a very strong de-greaser like dawn in very hot water for 3-6 hours, and then using a plunger. Adding Bac- Out which helps too, is also possible if you use a bathtub or big bucket. This gets rid of gunk. Then you can follow this with a soak in hot water for 3-6 hours. Hard water mineral deposits and soap scum are removed. If you have soft water, stripping will probably work, even if you have an acid soak. There is a Hope this is useful. It took some trial and error to figure it out.

👤I received Love Home Planet lavender and argan oil laundry detergent. I've done 3 loads of laundry so far, with a load of jeans, a load of gym clothes, and a load of sheets/duvet covers. The detergent is very concentrated. I used less than a capful for each of the three loads, and everything smelled clean. The packaging is made of mostly recycled materials. Reducing the impact on Mother Earth is a huge plus. I was not surprised that this product was rated a D on the EWG website, as it was heavy in fragrance and has a non-specified substance in it. I think that the company is moving towards eco-friendly manufacturing, natural ingredients, etc. It still has a long way to go. As a mom that takes great efforts to provide only non-toxic products andholistic solutions for her family, this one is unacceptable. I will enjoy the break from my homemade laundry detergent, but I will not purchase it again.

👤It is a new year. I am trying new cleaning products. I usually use liquid and or Pod forms of detergent. Both clean well but leave 888-353-1299 Kent mentioned how much he loved this detergent in a candle review. I decided to try it. I was hoping to find something that would clean my clothes and make them smell better. The lavender scent is great. The bottle contains enough for 53 medium loads. The liquid is thick and concentrated. The bottles were upright in the tightly packed box. I used as directed in my front loading machine. All my loads were small. I washed the jeans on cold for the first load. The jeans were clean and smelling great. My dog vomited on a towel and blanket that was in the second load. The blanket/towel are now clean and smelling great. All whites were in my final load. There was a grease stain on one of the shirts. I pretreated it with a little detergent. I only use Love Home and Planet detergent to see if it will remove the grease stain from my whites, because I usually add Oxyclean with my white load. The grease stain did a good job on the whites. I like how adding Oxy increases the whiteness. There is a Some reviewers think this is expensive. I think the price point is the same as buying without a coupon. I am very happy with my purchase and would buy again. I'm looking forward to trying this brands fabric softener and clothes refresher.

I poured the screw driver into one of the tops to measure how much was going to be thrown away. It was enough for a lot of laundry. I'm not very happy about it. I know this has a lot to do with their packaging, but still, it is a waste of money and makes me upset. How many times have I thrown out the jug and not looked to see if there was anything left? 👤I love these laundry sheets. They came with 2 boxes that were wrapped in plastic film. I am trying to reduce my plastic waste, but I would like to see the company stop using the plastic wrap. The brand was the most economical of the bunch. I use what I have, but only a few cents per load. The rest of the packaging is a box. I will attach some pictures of my test load. I tried it on the dirtiest thing I have. I have a bunny who pees next to his litter box. I got bed pads to protect the floor. Below is a shot of how sudsy the sheet got. I only used one sheet. It works the same as the other stuff. I was using. I didn't take the test because I wanted to see how well it worked. I will be using these from now on. I hope the plastic can be removed someday.

The window in the front of my car had a white, sticky mass on it after the wash and cold rinse, and more was stuck to the wet clothing. It took some work to clean it up. It was the same load as the first time, but still too much to tolerate. I have a recent model front-loading machine that uses one sheet, a normal sized load, placed on top of the load and then started according to directions. I returned the product for a refund because I don't know what's going wrong. Very disappointing. I don't see any other people with this experience yet, so I may have gotten an "off" batches. It's a great idea and worth trying.

I have to use bleach to get rid of the smell. I don't want to use bleach in every load. 👤I've bought this product before. I love it for my delicates and hand washing. It's gentle and my clothes come out smelling great. I follow the directions and never put too many items in the washer. I shake and smooth out thewrinkles when I take each article of clothing out of the washer. I don't want to treat like my towels or socks. The delicates and hand-hygiene items are not put in the dryer.

👤I've been using Seventh Generation laundry detergent for a decade. I've been pleased to see the bottle getting smaller over the years and I was happy to see the new compact bottle which creates less waste. I thought I had gone through it quicker after using one bottle completely. I was going to measure how much the Easy Dose cap was measuring out. The bottle says that one squeeze will give you a 10.3mL dose, for a total of 66 loads per bottle. I squeezed a 15 mL dose every time. I'm only getting 45 loads per bottle. I measure out my detergent instead of using the easy dose cap, which is annoying but not a dealbreaker. It's still an excellent detergent in a concentrated form. The quality of the detergent has not changed. Still does a great job of getting our clothes clean.

👤The EasyDose cap seemed easy at first, but the more I use it, the less certain it is. The muscleheads in my family can easily fill the detergent compartment without batting an eye, which leads to sudsy towels and decreased savings for the planet and my bank account. I would have to practice over a bowl to get a feel for how the EasyDose cap works. It's easier to just eyeball a small amount of the stuff and have my family do the same. Overall, a nice idea, but not a fool-proof execution.

👤The easy dose feature is the best feature that anyone has come up with. I stumbled across it on Amazon last year. I've used at least 7 bottles of this and never had a problem. My husband can do a load of laundry without thinking. You squeeze the bottle until it stops. The lavender scent in my house was too strong for me to tolerate. It's just my preference. My husband and son have sensitive skin and neither of them had any skin irritation from the lavender scent or the free and clear one. This product is in my subscribe and save and will stay there until it's no longer available. It's become a staple in my home.

The nozzle does it for you, you don't have to measure the detergent. It's not as messy as using a cap or powder. Great product!

👤I bought dreft for 10 months for my baby because I loved the scent. I have been buying stage 2 for a while now and I was happy that the scent did not change. I washed my baby clothes and bed sheets after I stocked up and realized the scent has changed. I thought I had a bad bottle, but I did some research and found out that the scent has changed permanently and is now an awful scent. Its a strong scent and a nedicated one. I am sad by the scent change. I will be buying a new detergent for my baby. Bring back the original sketch. I wrote this review in June after I was disappointed in the new scent of baby detergent and was looking for a new one. I found one. If you are looking for the baby scent, please buy baby all detergent. I added a post for all the parents that were disappointed when the formula was changed.

I decided to refill the large bottle since I had a 50-oz bottle on hand. I put the large bottle in the pantry after removing the cap. This was the correct choice for me.

I washed 7th Gen whites with bleach. The 7th Gen glove was cleaner than the oxy-treated one. The stain didn't wash in general wash even though 7th Gen got it out when directly applied. It worked well, didn't smell at all, and BOTTLE didn't stink like others have complained. On arrival, packaging was perfect.

The scent that was coming from the package was similar to the bug sprays I have used before. Bad Ju Ju... I was going to return the product. My wife told me to try it on some of our dirty rags. The individual sheets of laundry detergent were not as bad smelling when I opened the container. I put in 1 1/2 sheets of laundry paper because the rags were dirty and I had to fill the washer with hot water to soak them. The sheets of detergent were absorbed into the liquid. Impressive... I put the rags in the dryer after washing them. There was no strong odor or clean rags. I smelled the rags when they were done drying. They were clean and had a pleasant scent. So... I will subscribe to get more of this product. That's correct... The scent of a complete package of detergent sheets might be a bit overwhelming. Before you decide whether you like them or not, try them out. I put the package in a zip lock bag. They don't look at the whole cabinet. They are kept in a store. I will reuse the zip lock bag. 👤Earth Breeze doesn't clean laundry. It has a pleasant scent in the package, but no scent on the laundry. The laundry is a little less dirty than it was when it arrived. I tried using 2 and 3 laundry sheets in a load of laundry with slight changes in scent, but no difference in the laundry's quality. Do not purchase this product if you want to decrease the size of your carbon footprint. Just wash your laundry without detergent and save money. You will get the same results. This product doesn't clean laundry.

The boxes can't survive the internal Amazon handling and the last point of delivery had to add a second box. The box was supposed to have a fancy stand that would allow the cup to be inserted underneath, but it was broken by the rough handling. There is a The failed box has a powerful detergent inside. It gets my clothes clean. I have to force myself not to use too much because it feels small compared to non-concentrated products. My powder detergent is more economical than shipping liquid across the country, and the liquid enzymes in the Tide provide a better stain removal than the one in my powder detergent. There is a The whole point of this new product was to provide a new, innovative, e-commerce package that P&G and Amazon supposedly worked on together. They needed more testing in actual warehouses. We're not there yet.

👤This is not an alternative to buying detergent in a plastic jug. The product is packed in a large box with plastic air bags that are not recyclable. Shrink wrapped in plastic, the Tide box is not recyclable. The bag that holds the soap is plastic. The nozzle can't be recycled. It's messy, apart from all of that. It's a chore to squeeze out all of the soap in that bag. I have never spilled soap in plastic jugs. Which can be recycled. Don't bother with it. You can recycle empty detergent jugs.

👤I think it may be watered down. This 105oz box is equivalent to a 150oz container, they claim. They can print anything they want on the box. I know that's not doable. I can get 150 ounces from Walmart for the same price. I am skeptical.

👤The smaller bottle Seventh Generation sells is larger than this one. My girlfriend and I were unsure if this would be the load count that was specified on the bottle. It was great. The scent is mild and it's free of most harsh chemicals, which was a nice change. The claim of "automatic stop" for pouring is more of a "significantly slows down" than automatic stop. When you release the bottle, you can set the dose and go back to normal. The complaint is more of a note than a complaint. It's the best for the money.

👤The laundry soap is good. I've been using Seventh Generation products for a while and have always liked them. I was worried that the concentrated version would not clean my clothes as well as recommended, but that has not been the case. I usually use onesqueeze for a normal load and 2squeezes for dirty clothes or extra large loads. My clothes always come out clean. This product works great with my front-loading washer. I like that this is so concentrated that it doesn't take up as much room in my laundry room. If you were going to a laundromat, it would be very portable. My daughter's skin is very sensitive and she has not had any reactions to this soap. This product is very good and I would recommend it to others.

👤I bought a bottle of this and a few other detergents in Feb 13 2021. We have only been using this for a while because we wanted to test each one out on its own. Since we have an older washing machine that is not energy efficient, we do two squirts of laundry with it, which is easy to do with its easy dose cap. Even though it doesn't seem like it would be enough, we've both been happy with the detergent. We do a lot of laundry and clean towels and bedding, so I thought we would have done it by now. This is the first time we have used a concentrated detergent and we were used to using a lot of it to get our laundry clean but this stuff has been doing great. We live in a small apartment with not a lot of storage space so we've been using a smaller container of detergent. It's less of a hassle to do. We feel good about the ingredients. This was an easy transition from what we used before because we have been trying to be more conscious about the ingredients in the products we use. If we had to use regular detergent, it would feel wrong. We still have a quarter left, which is more than we expected, even though we thought we would go through a whole bottle by now. We were not used to the fact that our clothes had no scent at all, but they were clean. We used to have a scent on our laundry that gave it a clean smell, but it was usually full of chemicals. I have not seen any damage to our laundry from this product. I appreciate that too. There are so many positives with this product. I don't think I would want to use traditional detergent again. I think it is worth the cost, much easier to use, less messy, and takes up less space, and because it is more concentrated you don't need to use as much. I think there should be more products like this. It costs more money to transport traditional detergents because they are watered down and it requires more plastic waste. It is a great product in our opinion.
