If you are packing a lot of boxes and traveling, I wouldn't recommend storing them for a long time. We have always used a moving company and they told us how to tape up the boxes, but I showed them how to do it correctly. You have to use more because you end up using 3 or 4 large strips to go across the boxes because it's not sticky. The tape will not work if the meanining is too much and the tape pressing down is not secure. It will pop off slowly. We had a huge amt to pack well when the moving company came and only put a few of the boxes they needed to load because they were full and the tape was not sticking to them. If you do a simple 2 day move and use a few boxes, it would most likely be ok.

👤I placed this order because I had full faith in the Duck brand. My packed boxes are stacked in my dining room waiting for the time to load onto the moving truck. The tape was coming off. I blamed it on the heat. Within 20 minutes, the tape had started peeling off. You might wonder if I had something on my hands. I did not. I don't touch the tape even if I had. I slide it along the box and tear off the end with a cutter. I use the edge of the roll to press the tape more securely. The orange tape is placed on top of Duck tape to indicate where it should be placed. It doesn't affect the Duck tape. I will have to retape every box before the movers load them onto the truck. I have 5 more rolls of useless tape.

👤I re-visit this review almost a year later, to say that every roll in the 6-pack I bought has had the same horrible "Slivering" problem. I have thrown away more tape than I have used. The original review was not a good one. The tape is hard to use. I have to keep the leading end intact and off the roll. It's nearly impossible to free the end from the roll if it sticks there. It ends up splitting like an opening door when I try to pry it free. I have to pull foot-long sections of tape off the roll until I can restore unity. The industry calls this particular annoyance "slivering". Who knew?

👤I wish they didn't use plastic. Duck brand uses a cardboard spool. You would think Earth Hugger would do the same. They don't. There is a For unknown reasons, they don't list the recycled content percentage. I contacted the manufacturer to find out it was made from 50% recyled plastic. I use Earth Hugger tape since it's the only packing tape I've found made, but even Scotch brand tape offers a "Green" tape that has 65% PCRC, but since that's only wrapping tape and not packing tape, I also use it. There is a It's ok but frustrating at times because it likes to stick to itself more than other tapes I've tried. If I'm not careful, it will result in arinkly appliation. It does the job, and I appreciate that it's 50%. It was recycled. I'll keep buying until someone comes up with something better.
