Best Eco Friendly Trash Bags 10 Gallon

👤I think it's a bit deceptive to say that the bag is compostable, but not to say that it's not for backyard composting. I don't have a compost facility nearby. The first few bags in the roll had small defects that I noticed when I put the bag in my bin. I can't say that I didn't cause them, but that would make me think that bags aren't strong enough since I haven't done anything more than put them in the bin. The bags are barely large enough to fit in the bin, and the bags don't sit on the bottom, which is why the bin states it has a 5.3 gallon capacity. I will be looking for something that can compost in my backyard bin, and hopefully a bit larger than the rated capacity, because they're not bad.

The packaging says Compostable in big letters, but the fine print says they are only for composting in municipal/industrial composting facilities and not for home composting. I didn't read carefully because the front of the box made me think that I didn't know what I was looking at. The bags are delicate and did not fit my trash can. I tried to stretch the bag to fit the can, but it quickly split. I put a second bag in the bucket. The 5 gal bucket is fine. I pulled the bag to tie the top and found it split on the side. My fault is that I didn't read carefully that the bags are delicate and that they are not home compostable.

It seems that thinner bags that have been pre-weakened and at times have very small holes already present due to the stretching/abbration process they use on the plastic during production are referred to as thinner bags. The 80 count tear resistant version was switched over by Amazon. The two products are not the same. I have canceled my subscription and switched to an off brand that makes plastic bags the old-fashioned way.

When I received them, I was impressed with the quality. They are very similar to the traditional trash bags that I have been using. The traditional trashbags are the same as when I remove it. I don't waste bag trying to tie it or use another product to tie it before taking it out to the trash bin because that is very efficient. If you are like me, you know that your trash is likely taking years to biodegrade in the dump because of your plastic trash bags. This product is cost friendly and effective, so I highly recommend it to anyone.

The bags are thinner than your Hefty and need to be able to break down in a landfill. I've never had an issue with leaking with any ecofriendly garbage bag, I think it's a function of how much garbage is being stuffed into a single bag. Trying to tie a knot will cause the trash to fall out the bottom or push out the side, if that doesn't break it. I can't see how a smaller version of the bag could be used as a liner for a garbage bucket, since the bag would have to be lifted to get to the compost pile. Yuck.

Very close to the Glad bag. The quality is almost the same as the Glad bag. Plasticplace's bag feels a bit thinner than the 0.7mil thickness. It's hard to resist the "more value for the $" aspect for the 200 count. There is a I recommend the Plasticplace 8 gallon trash bag, I'm glad I made the switch. It's good to know that there are still great values out there when everything is so expensive. Shipping doesn't come cheap during this age, and the price is with shipping included. Plasticplace is not sure how it makes a profit. The bags came in a random box and the buyers had complained. The bags I bought came in the original box. I'm not sure if this was updated from the manufacture or if the affected buyers purchased the bags from a third party seller. I try to avoid third party sellers since I had a few bad transactions. I try to buy from Amazon directly, or a third party that is fulfill by Amazon. I'm only dealing with Amazon Service Reps, so this has been very positive.
